A new online platform bringing together Black Friday discounts from Maltese shops and service providers has been launched by the Malta Chamber of SMEs in collaboration with the Parliamentary Secretariat for Social Dialogue. The website is designed to make it easier for consumers to find local offers while giving businesses increased visibility during one of the busiest shopping periods of the year.
The initiative aims to help Maltese enterprises compete more effectively in a season dominated by international e-commerce giants. By centralising offers from retailers, service providers, and small businesses across Malta and Gozo, the platform encourages consumers to shop local rather than turning to overseas online stores. The website includes a variety of discounts, product bundles, and special promotions, with new deals being added daily.
Visitors can browse offers by category, business, and location, while also participating in daily voucher giveaways aimed at boosting engagement and driving traffic to participating shops. The Chamber of SMEs said this year’s rollout places particular emphasis on user experience, accessibility, and a simplified system for businesses submitting their deals.
Parliamentary Secretary for Social Dialogue Andy Ellul said the platform forms part of broader efforts to support SMEs and ensure they remain competitive. “The occasion of Black Friday has become part of the calendar not only for Maltese and Gozitans but also around the rest of the world, and this presents an opportunity for Maltese businesses,” he said. “Through this platform, we are making it easier for consumers to find good offers from local businesses. We are encouraging families to choose products and services from Maltese enterprises.”
Speaking on behalf of the Malta Chamber of SMEs, Marcel Mizzi described the platform as a “simple and effective tool” that benefits both buyers and sellers. He highlighted the importance of Black Friday in the local retail calendar, noting the increasing shift toward digital browsing and purchasing habits among consumers. “Our aim is to encourage businesses to offer good discounts and for people to choose to shop from local enterprises. This platform makes it much easier for consumers to find all offers and business details in one place,” he said.
The Chamber is encouraging businesses of all sizes to register their promotions on the site, with the goal of building a broad, inclusive directory of Black Friday deals representing the full spectrum of Malta’s commercial landscape.
With consumer habits continuing to evolve and digital platforms playing an ever-greater role in purchasing decisions, www.blackfridaymalta.eu positions itself as a timely and practical tool that boosts local commerce while giving shoppers an easier, more organised way to explore and benefit from Black Friday offers.
