The trading activity in Bank of Valletta plc shares since the start of 2024 to October 2024 surpassed the €14 million level, which is higher than the annual trading values of each of the past 5 years.
BOV is the most activity traded equity on the local market this year, accounting for almost 30% of all traded value in equities.
Nonetheless, activity remains below the 2017 and 2018 levels when annual trading values surpassed the €20 million figure in both years.
Bank of Valletta plc is the largest company by market capitalization in the Malta Stock Exchange.
Its market value recently climbed to over €1 billion as the share price reached the highest level in over six years.
BOV also holds the largest free float (shares in public hands), which stands at around €650 million and corresponds to 65% of its overall market capitalization.
On 16 October 2024, BOV’s Board of Directors resolved to distribute a net interim dividend of €0.06 per share, which is twice as much as the interim dividend declared in October last year.
Shareholders of BOV as of the close of trading on Friday 8 November 2024 will be entitled to receive the dividend on Wednesday 27 November 2024.
This dividend is BOV’s highest distribution in nearly a decade.
