Leapmotor has marked a significant step in its global expansion with the delivery of more than 2,500 electric vehicles to Europe aboard the Grande Tianjin, a new vessel operated by long-time logistics partner Grimaldi Group.

The Shanghai ceremony on August 8 celebrated both the vessel’s naming and its inaugural delivery voyage, underscoring the deepening strategic cooperation between the Chinese new energy vehicle maker and the European shipping giant.

Leapmotor International CEO Xin Tianshu described the shipment as “a symbol of China’s EV innovation going global,” highlighting the company’s presence in more than 30 countries and regions through a network of 1,500-plus sales and service outlets. To date, Leapmotor has delivered over 800,000 vehicles worldwide.

Grimaldi Group has been Leapmotor’s logistics partner since 2022, offering a monthly capacity of up to 22,500 Car Equivalent Units (CEUs) on roll-on/roll-off routes from Asia to Europe, ensuring the scale and stability needed for the automaker’s overseas operations.

The milestone comes amid record-breaking sales for Leapmotor. Between January and July 2025, the company sold 271,793 units—up 149% year-on-year—with July alone accounting for 50,129 deliveries.

Leapmotor began its overseas expansion in 2024, with current exports including the compact T03 and mid-size C10 in both BEV and REEV formats. The company will launch its first B-series global model, the Leapmotor B10, in September. Built to international standards, the B10 is designed to offer cutting-edge EV technology at an accessible price point.

Motors Inc. will soon introduce the B10 to the Maltese market, with pre-registration now open.
