Branding agency BRND WGN has announced a strategic investment from global creative and performance agency nmbl, marking the start of a long-term partnership aimed at building a more modern, internationally scalable agency offering.
The partnership, which went live on 23 January 2026, sees nmbl acquire a strategic stake in WGN VNTRS, BRND WGN’s investment and growth vehicle. The investment is designed to accelerate international expansion, strengthen operational scale, and unlock new global opportunities, while allowing both agencies to remain focused on their respective strengths.
The two agencies said the collaboration reflects a shift in client needs, with brands increasingly seeking partners that can combine long-term brand thinking with performance-first creative execution, without sacrificing craft or strategic clarity.
Founded nearly 20 years ago, BRND WGN has established itself as one of Malta’s leading brand-led creative agencies, working across brand strategy, identity, digital platforms, and creative execution. nmbl, founded in the United States six years ago, has rapidly scaled by placing performance at the core of content and creative work. Today, it operates across multiple jurisdictions and serves international brands including Nespresso, Vital Proteins, and Canon.
WGN VNTRS, through which the investment is being made, manages several strategic holdings for the agency, including BRND WGN’s Ukraine office and other investments across Malta and Europe.
The partnership positions BRND WGN among the first Maltese agencies to align with a global performance-first partner, opening the door to international-scale work. For nmbl, the agreement provides a trusted European partner through which to serve European and global clients, while for BRND WGN it brings access to global mandates, advanced performance expertise, and greater executional scale.
“This is a symbolic first step of many,” said Peter-Jan Grech, Founder and CEO of BRND WGN. “By opening our door to nmbl, and theirs to us, we’re creating broader opportunities for our people and our clients. We’re combining performance marketing at scale with brand systems, strategy, and digital experience — exactly what modern brands are looking for.”
nmbl Founder Corel Theuma described the partnership as both strategic and personal, marking a professional return to Malta where he began his career. “Expanding our global footprint required a European partner with strong credentials in brand, design, and cultural intelligence,” he said. “We found that in BRND WGN. Together, we’re building a future-ready agency for brands operating across multiple markets and channels.”
The two agencies have already begun collaborating on international client mandates and co-pitching for additional global opportunities. Over the next 12 months, they plan to grow shared teams across Europe and the US, deepen collaboration, and actively pursue new international work together.
