After decades based across several buildings in Gżira, GasanMamo Insurance has moved into a new Head Office on Mill Street, Ħal Qormi.

In the most recent interview on MeetInc, Malta’s fastest-growing business platform, we sat down with GasanMamo Insurance Managing Director Julian Mamo to discuss why the move happened now, what has changed inside the building and what the new Head Office means for the company’s future.

What made GasanMamo decide to move now?

“In truth, the move has been planned for some time. Our Gżira office was made up of several buildings, some dating back to the 1970s or earlier. The dated layout and the compromises that come with joining separate buildings together, led to inefficient use of space and the need for a major overhaul. We soon decided that the best option was a fresh start. We took the time to find the right location and building for our needs and once that was settled, we made the move.”

What’s different about the new office compared to the old one and why did that matter to GasanMamo?

“There’s a long list of differences. The most obvious one is that it’s modern, fresh, efficient and finished to a high standard. We wanted to create more than a workspace: a welcoming space for everyone who walks through the door, staff and visitors alike. The layout is open plan, which has brought our teams closer together and strengthened that sense of being one team. We now have multiple meeting rooms, pods for online meetings and a canteen that’s become a real meeting spot, a place where staff can grab a coffee or have lunch.”

Was there anything specific GasanMamo wanted the design or layout to say about the company?

“Part of our mission is to be friendly and professional and we wanted a space that reflects both. We’re not a stuffy old company. We’re approachable and friendly with clients, claimants and among ourselves, while remaining fully committed to professionalism in everything we do. We want staff and visitors to feel that from the moment they walk in and the design is built around that.”

What will clients and partners notice first when they walk in?

“I’m certain they’ll be struck by how professional the place feels. Things have been thought through down to the smallest detail and it shows. It’s a calm space where things get done.”

Where does GasanMamo see itself in the next few years, and how does this move fit in?

“This move positions GasanMamo very well for its continued growth.”

What does this growth mean for the team?

“The energy I’ve seen from the entire team has been incredible. They appreciate the investment, the attention to detail and the importance we’ve placed on providing a state-of-the-art working space, one that’s a pleasure to come to. Once you’re in the building, there’s a sense of calm that’s the opposite of the hustle and bustle that defines most of Malta.”

If GasanMamo had to sum up this chapter in one sentence, what would it be?

“With our new Head Office, we’ve set a high bar that will propel us forward, focused on delivering the best possible value to our growing client base.”
