BETSSON POSTS RECORD €310 MILLION QUARTER AS WORLD CUP LIFTS B2C REVENUE

Betsson Group posted record quarterly revenue of €310 million in the second quarter of 2026, its highest-ever figure for a single quarter, with chief executive Pontus Lindwall pointing directly to the FIFA World Cup as a key driver.

The tournament, which kicked off in June, lifted activity among both new and existing customers across Betsson's business-to-consumer operations. Lindwall described the B2C performance as strong across the board, with the group continuing to deliver record figures in that segment.

The standout regional story was Latin America, which grew 32 percent year-on-year to new record levels and now accounts for more than a third of total group revenue — making it Betsson's largest region. Lindwall said the growth was broad-based before receiving an additional boost from the World Cup. Western Europe also contributed positively, with Italy again the primary engine in that market. In Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, B2C revenue rose across all markets, with the Baltics, Georgia and Croatia singled out for particularly strong showings.

Not everything moved in the same direction. Business-to-business revenue came in below the equivalent period in 2025, a continuation of a pattern Lindwall has previously attributed to lower activity from one of the group's larger customers. He said the trend had stabilised, but from a reduced baseline that weighed on overall profitability. Operating income for the quarter came in at €42 million.

On staffing, personnel expenses reached €49.7 million in Q2. The group employed an average of 2,899 full-time staff during the period, of whom 1,543 were based in Malta.

The World Cup effect has not yet fully unwound. Lindwall said average daily revenue from the start of Q3 through to 13 July ran 14 percent ahead of the corresponding daily average for the whole of the third quarter of 2025, suggesting tournament-driven momentum has carried into the new period.

Latin America's rise to Betsson's largest regional market marks a meaningful shift in the group's commercial centre of gravity, with B2C firmly established as the primary growth engine even as the B2B segment continues to act as a modest drag on group-level profitability.
