Apple has officially confirmed a product event for 9th September, at which it is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro lineup and what would be its first foldable iPhone. The event begins at 10 am Pacific Time, with Apple adopting the tagline “Surprise and Shine” alongside an invitation featuring a glowing logo set against a sunlit backdrop.
Three new iPhone models are anticipated: the iPhone 18 Pro, the iPhone 18 Pro Max and a foldable device rumoured to carry the name iPhone Ultra. A standard iPhone 18 is not expected to appear at this event. Apple is said to be splitting its usual autumn launch cadence, with the iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and an iPhone Air 2 reportedly slated to follow in spring 2027.
The Pro models are not expected to depart significantly from their predecessors in form or display size. The focus instead falls on three rumoured upgrades: a variable-aperture main camera, a reduced Dynamic Island and Apple’s own C2 cellular modem. Four finishes are said to be under consideration, including dark cherry, black, silver and light blue.
The foldable iPhone is anticipated to be the centrepiece of the event. Described as a book-style device, it is rumoured to feature an outer display of between 5.3 and 5.5 inches and an inner display of between 7.6 and 7.8 inches. A titanium frame, an exceptionally slim profile and a near-crease-free screen are among the features attributed to the device. It may also incorporate Touch ID within the power button in place of Face ID, alongside dual front-facing cameras and a two-lens rear system. Pricing estimates broadly cluster around 1,999 US dollars, though some configurations are said to potentially reach 2,500 dollars, which would make it the most expensive iPhone Apple has sold.
Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 are also expected at the event, with upgrades centred on processors and health features rather than any redesign. AirPods 5 are likewise anticipated.
The occasion will mark a change at the top of Apple’s leadership, with John Ternus set to assume the chief executive role on 1st September and Tim Cook moving to executive chairman.
