Wolt has appointed Chris Tanti as General Manager of its Maltese operations, marking a new phase in the company’s local growth and its wider international expansion.
Tanti brings extensive leadership experience from within Wolt, having played key roles in launching new markets and scaling high-growth business verticals across multiple regions. His appointment signals a continued focus on expanding Wolt’s footprint in Malta while strengthening its role as a broader local commerce platform.
Before taking on the General Manager role in Malta, Tanti was closely involved in expanding Wolt’s retail business, which has emerged as one of the company’s fastest-growing verticals globally. What began as a food delivery platform has since evolved to include grocery, electronics, pet supplies, health and beauty products, positioning retail as a major growth driver for Wolt across its markets.
Tanti also played a central role in the commercial leadership of Wolt’s pre-launch and launch in Kosovo, which is considered one of the company’s most successful market entries. Today, Wolt’s ecosystem in Kosovo includes more than 800 local businesses and over 400 couriers, supporting employment and strengthening the local economy.
In 2025, Tanti took on additional responsibilities as Interim General Manager for Wolt in the Czech Republic, overseeing the market during a key strategic period. His appointment to the interim role reflected Wolt’s confidence in his ability to manage cross-market operations and complex growth environments.
His career at Wolt builds on a strong background in hospitality and commercial operations. With over 15 years of experience in the hospitality sector, Tanti has led pre-opening and turnaround operations for high-volume venues, overseeing staffing, logistics, budgeting and cost control. His experience also includes scaling multi-site restaurant and events operations, managing commercial performance across conferences and MICE segments, and building robust operational frameworks across sales, forecasting and cross-functional coordination.
As General Manager, Tanti will be responsible for overseeing Wolt’s strategic direction in Malta, strengthening partnerships with local restaurants and retail merchants, enhancing customer offerings and continuing to drive innovation in how Wolt supports everyday commerce.
Speaking about his appointment, Tanti said he was looking forward to leading Wolt Malta at a pivotal stage in its development, highlighting the importance of combining operational excellence with a deep understanding of partner needs to deliver sustainable growth for merchants and customers alike.
