Tech.mt, Malta’s leading foundation for the promotion and development of the technology sector, held its Summer Gathering last Thursday at the Merkanti Hilton. Attended by Tech.mt’s members and partners, the event showcased the foundation’s achievements over the past seven months and outlined future initiatives.
Tech.mt highlighted its participation in international events, including London Tech Week and Dublin Tech Summit, with 12 and 11 businesses joining the delegations, respectively. These engagements emphasise Tech.mt’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and expanding the global presence of Maltese tech companies and startups.
The foundation also presented several impactful campaigns launched this year. Initiatives such as Tech Talks, in collaboration with Meet Inc and the Growth Guide, focused on promoting businesses, assisting startups to internationalise, and discussing the current state of the local digital economy. By emphasising the importance of technology across various industry verticals, Tech.mt is actively promoting tech adoption and innovation.
One key upcoming campaign focuses on promoting the participation of young girls and women in the tech industry. This initiative aims to bridge the gender gap by encouraging and supporting women to pursue careers in tech. More so, through various events and awareness campaigns, Tech.mt will strive to create a more inclusive and diverse tech community in Malta.
The event also served as a networking platform for companies and startups to expand their connections, collaborate, and share insights. Tech.mt aims to grow the tech community further and enhance its impact on the local digital economy through innovation, entrepreneurship, and talent development.
Looking ahead, the foundation is focusing on new initiatives, including an expression of interest for local tech businesses to join the inMalta delegation for Web Summit and GITEX, which has seen nearly four times the interest compared to last year. Tech.mt will continue its collaborative efforts, focusing on business promotion, whilst also engaging the younger generation.
As Tech.mt drives Malta’s tech agenda forward, the foundation remains dedicated to fostering a thriving, inclusive, and globally competitive tech ecosystem. Stay tuned for more updates and initiatives.
