Shoreline Mall p.l.c. the company behind The Shoreline Mall development in Kalkara, has reported a loss of €1.6 million for the financial year ending 30 June 2025, its first year of full operation.
The results were published in the company’s interim financial statements released last week.
Located within Smart City, Kalkara, The Shoreline Mall features a mix of international retail outlets and catering establishments — including Pull&Bear, Stradivarius, Bershka, Franks, Aldo, Kiko Milano, Calliope, Junior’s, Homemate, and Starbucks, many of which operate flagship stores. The mall also includes Gravity, a family entertainment venue with trampoline parks, arcade games, climbing walls, and a free-fall activity zone.
For the year under review, The Shoreline Mall generated net rental income of €2.4 million, a significant increase from €779,419 in 2024. The company recorded an operating profit of €56,453, after accounting for depreciation and amortisation costs of €1.9 million.
Despite the positive rental performance and operating profitability, financial costs pushed the bottom line into a €1.6 million loss.
The company’s principal activities include managing the Shoreline Mall shopping complex and developing residential villas for resale as part of the wider Smart City project.
