Prime Minister Robert Abela, alongside Minister for the Economy, Enterprise, and Strategic Projects, Silvio Schembri, attended the inauguration of SiGMA Group’s new Malta office. They were joined by SiGMA Group Founder Eman Pulis, Malta Gaming Authority CEO Charles Mizzi, and Gaming Malta CEO Ivan Filletti.
During his visit, Prime Minister Abela highlighted the significance of this milestone—not just for SiGMA but for Malta’s economy as a whole. “This event is more than just the opening of SiGMA’s new offices; it marks an economic achievement that embodies our nation’s ambition and vision. The iGaming industry remains a cornerstone of Malta’s economy, and through strong regulations, technological advancements, and skilled talent, we will continue to cement our status as a global hub for digital gaming,” he stated.
He described this investment as a “step forward for Malta’s gaming industry,” reinforcing SiGMA’s presence on the island while showcasing the immense potential of the international conference sector. The Prime Minister also confirmed the government’s commitment to supporting this growth, including plans for a new conference center aimed at further enhancing Malta’s tourism and economic landscape with a focus on quality.
SiGMA Group Founder Eman Pulis expressed his enthusiasm for this new chapter, noting that the Malta office has now “doubled its footprint.” He revealed that this year, the company will strengthen its presence in Belgrade and expand operations with a newly established office in Noida, India. Looking ahead to next year, SiGMA plans further expansion with new offices in Cyprus, Manila, and São Paulo.
“In the past decade, we’ve welcomed 100,000 industry delegates—an achievement I take great pride in,” Pulis remarked. “Over the next ten years, we aim to establish ourselves as a true authority in the field, forging relationships with at least 100 governments and regulators worldwide.” He also announced the creation of a new department dedicated to fostering these global connections.
What began as a small office in Malta has grown into an international organization with over 250 employees across multiple countries. This year alone, SiGMA will host seven major events, including SiGMA Euro-Med in September at the Malta Mediterranean Hub in Marsa and SiGMA Central Europe in November at Fiera Roma in Rome.
Looking to the future, Pulis outlined SiGMA’s ambitious growth strategy. “The next decade will be our most transformative yet. We plan to expand into more cities across the U.S., Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. We will also host more events and open new offices, including one in Las Vegas. Our objective is clear: to become one of the world’s top three leaders in our field while proudly positioning Malta as a key player in this sector.”
