Malta And Italy Sign Agreement To Strengthen The Pharmaceutical Sector

Malta and Italy are teaming up in the pharmaceutical sector, as the Malta Medicines Authority (MMA) and Agenzia Italiana del Farmaco (AIFA) have officially signed a new collaboration agreement in Rome.

With Health Minister Jo Etienne Abela present at the signing, this agreement aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries, ensuring better access to medicines, drug safety, and innovation in the industry.

Minister Abela described the deal as a step forward in improving patient care, adding that both Malta and Italy will benefit from closer collaboration.

During his visit, Abela also met with Italian Health Minister Orazio Schillaci, discussing potential partnerships in medication access, transplants, screenings, blood transfusions and training for healthcare workers.
