Epic Malta has been recognised as Malta’s fastest mobile network for the third consecutive time, receiving an award during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The recognition was presented during the Ookla Speedtest Awards ceremony, which evaluates mobile network performance using independent data gathered through the Speedtest platform.
According to the organisers, the award reflects the results of hundreds of thousands of consumer-initiated network tests conducted in Malta.
The accolade confirms Epic’s ranking as both Malta’s fastest and best mobile network, based on Ookla’s analysis of network speed and performance.
Epic was the only Maltese telecom operator represented at the award ceremony during Mobile World Congress 2026, the telecom sector’s largest global event.
Held annually in Barcelona, Mobile World Congress brings together telecom operators, technology firms and infrastructure providers to showcase emerging technologies and industry developments.
Epic Chief Executive Officer Pierre-Etienne Cizeron received the award on behalf of the company.
Cizeron said the recognition reflects the company’s ongoing efforts to maintain strong network performance and reliability for customers.
The award is part of Ookla’s annual Speedtest Awards programme, which benchmarks mobile and broadband performance globally using crowdsourced testing data.
Beyond the award ceremony, Epic said its participation in Mobile World Congress also provided opportunities to engage with industry partners and explore developments in next-generation connectivity technologies.
The company said discussions at the event focused on the future evolution of mobile networks, including emerging standards and innovations expected to shape the telecom sector in the coming years.
Recognition at one of the world’s largest telecom industry events underscores the growing visibility of Malta’s telecommunications sector on the international stage.
