Maltese ride-hailing platform provider eCabs Technologies has officially entered the UK market through a partnership with Like a Ride, a new Bristol-based operator focused on community-driven transport.
The move marks the sixth European market for eCabs Technologies, whose platform now powers operations in Malta, Greece, Romania, Germany, and the UK.
The Bristol launch comes on the heels of an €18 million technology development programme, one of the largest ever by a Maltese tech firm. The result is a fully-fledged ride-hailing SaaS platform designed to help local operators compete with global players through scalable, regulation-friendly tech.
“This is a defining moment for us,” said eCabs Technologies CEO Matthew Bezzina. “To see our platform enable an operator like Like a Ride — one that reflects values of fairness, inclusion, and innovation — is exactly what we set out to do.”
Bristol, home to around 500,000 people and a strong student and tourism economy, is the second-largest city in southern England after London. Like a Ride aims to serve 100,000 riders annually with a network of 500 drivers completing up to 3,000 rides daily within the next three to five years.
The company’s founder, Mircea Aron, brings deep experience in the UK ride-hailing space and sees eCabs as the ideal tech partner. “With seamless routing, secure payments, and real-time insights, we’re raising the bar for local transport,” he said.
eCabs Technologies’ platform includes integrations with global tools like Google Fleet Engine for real-time ETAs, Adyen for compliant payments, and MoEngage and Talon. One for engagement and loyalty. It also provides analytics and performance tools via Power BI and Adjust.
The company describes its offer as more than just software — it’s a full mobility operating system built for modern operators in a fast-changing regulatory and competitive landscape.
