In the latest MeetInc interview, we sat down to talk all things real estate with Jeremy Cassar, Owner and CEO of ERA Malta, a franchise of one of the world’s leading real estate brands. Jeremy’s path, marked by ambition, offers valuable insight into building an ambitious company from the ground up and looking to shape the Maltese real estate landscape.
Jeremy began his career in real estate seven years ago as an agent. “My ambition took over,” he recalls, as he transitioned from working as an agent to co-founding a company. Challenges arose due to misaligned visions among partners, leading him to seek a stronger foundation. That opportunity came with ERA Real Estate —a brand with global roots and a legacy of excellence.
“ERA is one of the largest real estate companies in the world. It offered the concrete foundation I was looking for,” Jeremy shared. His alignment with ERA’s values and systems enabled him to launch a brand synonymous with professionalism and innovation in Malta.
A Focus on Standards and Innovation
Under Jeremy’s leadership, ERA Malta prioritises setting and maintaining high standards. One standout innovation is TEXT ERA, a digital service that simplifies property inquiries. “You can text a code and receive all property details on your phone instantly. It’s about making life easier for clients and agents,” he explained. Additionally, ERA’s Comfort Guarantee provides a rapid response team to address emergencies, ensuring peace of mind for clients.
Mentorship and Training as Pillars of Success
Jeremy emphasised the importance of mentorship and training, foundational to maintaining ERA’s high standards. Through ERA, agents receive both technical training and personal development support. “We mentor them on a personal level because mindset is critical. Without it, you lose everything,” he noted.
Navigating Malta’s Real Estate Market
Malta’s real estate market presents unique challenges, including rapid changes and high client expectations. Jeremy highlights the importance of patience and professionalism. “We’re new to the industry in Malta, but our standards and frameworks give us a competitive edge,” he asserted. ERA’s methodical approach, including rigorous due diligence and adherence to international standards, positions them as a trustworthy brand.
Gozitan Roots, Global Ambitions
As a native of Gozo, Jeremy’s local insights have shaped ERA’s strategies. He notes Gozo’s rising appeal as a tranquil, desirable investment destination. However, he stresses the need for sustainable growth, cautioning against rushing development. “You need to refine it, give it time to grow,” he advised.
A Vision for the Future
Jeremy’s goal is clear: to establish ERA as a household name in Malta by embedding a culture of excellence. Regular attendance at international conventions inspires the team, fostering innovation and growth. He remains committed to maintaining ERA’s foundational standards while adapting to technological advancements such as AI, which he views as a double-edged sword. “AI helps streamline processes but can risk losing the personal touch,” he cautioned.
Jeremy’s story is one of perseverance, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to quality. His leadership at ERA Malta is not just about building a business but shaping an industry. As he succinctly put it, “You need to be goal-oriented and ready to change your life for the better.”
