Blue, a Romanian ride-hailing service built on eCabs Technologies’ mobility platform, celebrates its strongest milestone yet three years after launch, surpassing 400,000 app registrations.

eCabs Technologies said the 400,000 milestone, made up of active users, makes Blue one of the strongest organic growth trajectories among independent mobility players in Eastern Europe in recent years. 

The St Julians-based eCabs Technologies launched its ride-hailing solution for global mobility operators after undertaking a €21 million product development program. 

The investment is among the largest ever locally funded tech development cycles. It has resulted in a market-ready ride-hailing platform that is already operational in several world cities.

Built from the ground up

Launched in August 2023, Blue wasn’t created by acquiring an existing taxi company or migrating an established customer base. 

Every rider, driver and business customer has been acquired organically, making the achievement a strong validation of both Blue’s execution and eCabs Technologies’ City Partner model.

Today, Blue operates in Bucharest, serves more than 1,100 business customers and has built a network of over 3,100 registered drivers.

The next milestone comes later this month, when one of the largest taxi operators in a European city, launches on the eTL platform. Further City Partner launches in Latina America and Europe will follow in the coming months, as eCabs Technologies continues expanding its international network of independent mobility operators.
