Lidl Malta has been certified as a Top Employer for the eighth consecutive year, reaffirming its long-term commitment to high workplace standards and people-focused business practices.
The certification is awarded by the Top Employers Institute, an independent authority that assesses organisations against global benchmarks for human resources policies and employee experience. Lidl Malta’s recognition reflects a consistent focus on placing its workforce of more than 550 employees at the centre of its strategy.
The retailer’s human resources approach is built around continuous improvement, combining competitive remuneration and benefits with structured career development. In addition, the group retained its “Top Employer Enterprise” status, placing it among a small number of organisations recognised for consistently high HR standards across multiple markets.
Commenting on the milestone, Owen Micallef, Director of Lidl Malta, said the certification reflects the dedication of the company’s workforce and its commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive environment.
He noted that the recognition is not viewed as a one-off achievement but as an ongoing responsibility to maintain and further improve the employee experience as the company moves into 2026.
The Top Employers Institute certification is based on a comprehensive assessment through its HR Best Practices Survey, which evaluates organisations across six core HR domains and 20 topics. These include People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, Well-being, and Diversity and Inclusion.
