Cyrus Engerer and Silvan Agius have launched a new consultancy focused on diversity, equality and inclusion strategy.
The firm, branded æquitasbridge, positions itself as an advisory practice aimed at helping organisations translate equality and inclusion policies into practical implementation.
According to its website, the consultancy was established in response to what the founders describe as a recurring gap between written policies and lived workplace experiences. The firm says it will focus on embedding diversity, equality, inclusion, accessibility and belonging — collectively referred to as DEIAB — into leadership and strategic decision-making.
“At a time when diversity and inclusion issues are increasingly pushed to the sidelines, we place them at the heart of strategy and leadership,” the company states.
Engerer, who previously served as a Member of the European Parliament for the Labour Party, said that inclusive environments contribute directly to improved innovation, decision-making and talent retention within organisations.
Agius brings experience from the European Commission, where he worked extensively on equality and human rights policy. The consultancy is expected to draw on both founders’ institutional and policy backgrounds, targeting both public and private sector clients.
The launch marks a shift in focus for the two figures, who in recent years had explored the creation of a new progressive political party, Partit Malta Progressiva. Those plans were formally shelved earlier this year amid concerns that an additional party could further fragment third-party voters alongside existing formations such as ADPD and Momentum.
With the new consultancy, Engerer and Agius are positioning themselves within the advisory and governance space rather than electoral politics.
As corporate governance standards and ESG frameworks increasingly incorporate diversity and inclusion metrics, demand for structured advisory services in this field has grown across Europe.
