KM Malta Airlines has launched a Train + Air partnership with SNCF Voyageurs, allowing Maltese travellers to book a combined flight and high-speed rail journey across France and Brussels in a single transaction.

Announced on Thursday 24th September 2026, the arrangement connects KM Malta Airlines flights with SNCF Voyageurs services, including TGV INOUI and OUIGO, through two hub airports: Paris Charles-de-Gaulle and Lyon Saint-Exupéry. From Charles-de-Gaulle, passengers can reach 25 onward destinations by rail, covering cities such as Marseille, Bordeaux, Nantes, Rennes, Strasbourg, Lille and Montpellier. Lyon connections extend the reach further to Avignon, Grenoble, Marseille, Montpellier and Nîmes, among others.

For travellers in Malta, the practical effect is a meaningfully wider network. Rather than booking a flight and a train separately, with separate terms and separate risk, passengers get a single itinerary with built-in disruption cover. If an eligible flight or train is delayed, onward travel will be arranged at no additional cost under the applicable conditions. The partnership runs in both directions, giving rail passengers across France a more direct path to Malta.

David Curmi, Executive Chairman of KM Malta Airlines, described the deal as “another important step in expanding the connectivity we offer our customers,” adding that combining flights with SNCF’s high-speed network would make it easier for passengers to reach cities beyond the airline’s direct routes through a single booking.

SNCF Voyageurs, the passenger rail arm of the SNCF Group established in 2020, carries around five million passengers daily and employs approximately 65,000 people. It operates high-speed and long-distance services across France and into wider Europe, alongside regional and public-service routes.
