Yannick Pace
Ivan Refalo has been elected the new President of the Malta Employers’ Association (MEA), following Joanne Bondin, who completed her term limit. Refalo, stepping up from his previous role as Deputy President, acknowledged the trust placed in him by his peers and praised Bondin for her exemplary leadership, promising to draw on her example.
Refalo brings a rich background of over 35 years spanning multiple sectors including manufacturing, hospitality, and aviation, to his new role. He is an experienced human resources practitioner currently leading the HR department at Seifert Systems Ltd, a company known for its innovative cooling technologies.
At the organization’s 60th Annual General Meeting, MEA also appointed a new slate of officers. Arthur Muscat was named Honorary President; Joanne Bondin, now Senior Vice President; and Norman Mifsud and Martin Vella as Deputy Presidents, among others.
Refalo, in his first address as president, committed to advancing the MEA’s mission to protect the interests of responsible employers and to foster social dialogue that promotes both economic growth and sustainable business practices.
