SiGMA has issued an open call for Maltese businesses to join its growing international circuit of summits, with organisers stressing their commitment to showcasing local expertise on the global stage.
The announcement comes as SiGMA Euro-Med 2025 kicks off this week at the Mediterranean Maritime Hub (MMH). The event is expected to attract 12,000 delegates, 400 speakers, 2,880 affiliates, 2,160 operators and more than 400 exhibitors and sponsors.
Founded in Malta in 2014, SiGMA has since expanded across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas, with offices in Malta, Limassol, Manila, São Paulo and Belgrade. At the heart of that growth, organisers say, is the drive to export Maltese entrepreneurship abroad by integrating local companies into global expos.
“Our local partners deliver the same high standards of quality and creativity first established in Malta to audiences worldwide,” SiGMA said, pointing to upcoming events in Rome, São Paulo, Manila, Dubai, Cape Town and Sri Lanka.
For this year’s Malta edition, SiGMA has onboarded Maltese companies spanning event production, logistics, audiovisual services, branding, catering and hospitality. These partners, organisers said, “represent a vital part of SiGMA’s success and demonstrate how Maltese expertise contributes to some of the industry’s most ambitious gatherings.”
The programme balances business and culture. By day, delegates will network across exhibition floors, VIP lounges, startup villages and themed stages including the SiGMA Stage and AIBC Stage. By night, the event shifts to iGathering dinners at UNESCO heritage sites and Malta’s waterfront. Highlights include the SiGMA Awards on 1 September at the Hilton, followed by a full week of the SiGMA Poker Tour at Portomaso Casino.
Last year’s SiGMA summit contributed over €100 million in tourism revenue and supported more than 950 jobs in Malta, underlining the event’s economic impact alongside its global reach.
Founder Eman Pulis said the latest edition underscores a vision rooted in collaboration and inclusivity. “By taking Maltese companies abroad, we’re exporting a piece of Malta’s entrepreneurial spirit while building an ecosystem that’s competitive, creative and world-class.”
