HSBC Malta has stepped up efforts to support young mothers preparing to re-enter the workforce, partnering with Servizz Għożża for a two-part career development programme that included mock interviews and hands-on CV training.
The sessions, run in collaboration with the Wellbeing Services Directorate, were designed to equip participants with essential employability skills — from structuring a strong CV to preparing for interviews with real-time feedback from a professional panel that included an HSBC representative.
Glenn Bugeja, Head of Corporate Sustainability at HSBC Malta, said the initiative was part of the bank’s broader drive to empower people through financial and career literacy. “Through our partnership with Servizz Għożża, we aim to equip young mothers with the necessary skills to secure employment and build a better future for themselves and their families.”
The young women taking part are supported by Servizz Għożża, a national programme providing holistic assistance to mothers navigating early parenthood, many of whom face barriers to education and employment.
“The sessions have been incredibly engaging, with participants showing a real willingness to learn,” said a representative from the Wellbeing Services career guidance team. “Practical career support like this gives them the confidence to pursue further education, training or work.”
The intervention is part of HSBC Malta’s ongoing corporate sustainability strategy, which focuses on boosting employability, financial inclusion and community resilience across the country.
