Founded in March 1881 by Charles Grech, after his career in Britain’s Royal Navy, the House of Charles Grech began as a tobacconist and bottle shop on Republic Street in Malta. Known for selecting the finest products, the shop quickly gained the patronage of Malta’s elite.
Despite the challenges of World War II, the shop remained open, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to quality. This dedication has become the hallmark of Charles Grech, recognised globally for exceptional wines, fine tobacco, and spirits.
