Plaza Centres p.l.c. has signed a promise of sale agreement to acquire a childcare property in Tignè, Sliema, extending the Maltese property company's push to build a portfolio of assets that deliver steady, long-term returns.
The property is already leased to an established childcare operator, meaning an income stream is in place from the outset rather than contingent on finding a future tenant. The company has described the deal as fully aligned with its strategy of diversifying Plaza's holdings through quality real estate that generates stable income and creates sustainable value for shareholders.
Completion remains subject to a number of conditions precedent, with Plaza Centres expecting to move the process forward over the coming months.
The announcement reinforces the company's stated commitment to identifying opportunities that contribute positively to the communities in which it operates, alongside delivering returns to investors. Childcare assets, which tend to carry long leases and operationally resilient tenants, sit comfortably within that kind of income-focused acquisition strategy.
Steve Abela CIWFM, who shared the news publicly on behalf of Plaza Centres, called the transaction an important milestone for the company and acknowledged the board and wider team involved in reaching this stage of the deal.
Plaza Centres p.l.c. is a Malta-listed property company with a focus on quality commercial real estate. The Tignè acquisition, once completed, would add a community-facing asset to its portfolio at a well-established address in Sliema, one of Malta's most active commercial and residential districts.
