About Matthew Gatt
I graduated as a pharmacist in 2002 and worked in the Maltese pharmaceutical distribution industry for 10 years. In 2012 I left a good position, with a reputable pharmaceutical company, to follow my dream and create something meaningful to me. Over the years my dream developed, and I found meaning in 3 main things:
1. Bringing out the best in people
2. Following my passion for creating a culture of change and innovation, challenging the status quo with every chance I get and
3. Thinking, dreaming, and living with customers, all the time.
I have always been a strong believer in fast decision-making even at times when I didn’t have data at hand. Despite knowing that 20% of the time wrong decisions are taken with speed, fast-decision making is encouraged throughout the organisation. Speed creates advantage and opportunity, especially in our current landscape.
Looking back at the last 12 years, Mint Health’s biggest success was in building a united and dynamic team that has unparalleled ownership. A team whose biggest strengths are the principles of Care, Customer and Change. Over the years, we used our expertise to create a more holistic approach to health and wellbeing and eventually, this became central to our company culture and ethos. The decision to focus on hand-picked wellness brands, besides our very strong multinational pharma brands, was pivotal in ensuring that we continue to make a difference in the community we are part of. This was enhanced by our expansion into the retail business where we now own 4 state-of-the-art pharmacies.
I look forward to Mint Health’s future, nurtured with passion, care and lots of happiness. We believe that this is the right recipe for continued, stable growth.
